Member of the Board of Froli Baltic Margret Fromme-Ruthmann.
â Margret Fromme-Ruthmann on the city of Ventspils: âYour city is like a pearl by the sea â it impresses me how very clean and neat everything is here. Every time I come here, I feel like Iâm visiting friends.â
And on the workers: âWhat is commendable is not only the level of education of the local workers, but also the fact that every one of them is ready to receive educational training, to learn, to acquire new skills and, most importantly â let themselves be taught. The training in collaboration with the German colleagues is taking place both here and in Germany. We are proud of our workers and pleased with how honestly and thoroughly they are doing their jobs. They donât teach you in school how to work with a polyurethane device. This has to be learnt on the spot, production changes, therefore the workers need new skills and competences.â
Egils Staris, Chair of Board, SIA Bio-Venta:
â Location within the territory of Ventspils Free Port and the available infrastructure are some of the competitive advantages of SIA Bio-Venta, if compared to similar producers.
Selecting the correct location was essential for realisation of the biodiesel plant project â SIA Bio-Venta is in the middle of material flow from the East to AmsterdamâRotterdamâAntwerp (ARA) ports now and thus closer to our target markets in the Baltics and Scandinavia than other biodiesel producers from the Western Europe. Access to port berths and rail and road access ensure one of the major elements in biodiesel production business, i.e. flexible logistics of materials and production.
