Liquid cargo terminals

Liquid cargo area has 9 berths ranging in depth between 11.5 and 17.5 m. These berths can accommodate AFRAMAX type vessels of 150 000 DWT.
 

Ventspils Nafta Terminal LTD. is the largest Baltic Sea Region oil and petroleum product transshipment terminal operating in port’s liquid cargo area. Crude oil and petroleum products are received by pipeline and railways. The tank farm of the enterprise exceeds 1 million cubic metres, and the clients of the company can store their products in case there is no immediate transshipment possibility (due to weather conditions), or in expectation of better market price. The service package of the company also includes chemical analysis of oil and petroleum products in the company laboratory.

JSC Ventbunkers handles various light and dark petroleum products, in addition offering forwarding and ballast/bilge water collection services. The storage capacity of the terminal is 275 000 m3, and transshipment intensity reaches up to 10 mln t/year.

JSC Ventamonjaks is one of the largest Baltic Sea Region terminals for handling chemical products. The main types of cargo handled by the company include ammonia, different spirits, methanol, oils, as well as petrochemicals, which can be stored at the company using its vast storage capacities. Company also provides ballast and bilge water treatment.

Dry bulk cargo terminals
 

JSC Ventspils Commercial Port is specializing in transshipment of wide range of general cargos. The following cargoes are handled by the berths of the company: metals, coal, ferro-alloys, grain, raw sugar, etc. The storage capacity of the terminal amounts to 200 000 m3.

JSC Kalija Parks is the largest fertilizer transshipment terminal in Europe, which handles approximately 20% of world potash trade. 2 PANAMAX type vessels (up to 75 000 DWT) can be simultaneously loaded by the berths of the terminal. The overall storage capacity of the company is 120 000 tons, and the future plans envisage its increase by additional 70 000 tons.

JSC Ventspils Grain Terminal is a specialised grain warehousing and transshipment port terminal with calculated annual handling capacities reaching 2,5 mln. tonnes. The total storage capacities at once are 72 000 tonnes of grain. At the specialised deepwater berth of the terminal it is possible to accomodate a PANAMAX type vessel with 75 000 DWT. Loading speed of the terminal capacities reach 1 500 tonnes per hour.

JSC Baltic Coal Terminal is a closed storage coal terminal with the capacity of 6 million tons per year. It uses the most up-to-date coal handling technologies and has sealed warehouses to rule out environmental pollution. Such technical solutions in the Baltic States are used for the first time. The warehouses can store up to 210 thousand tons of coal. JSC Baltic Coal Terminal can accommodate the largest ships entering the Baltic Sea – ships with the dead-weight of up to 120,000 tons.

Noord Natie Ventspils Terminals LTD.

is the most up-to-date terminal of the Baltic Sea region in terms of equipment. Belgian – Latvian joint venture is equipped with the state-of-art loading/unloading and terminal facilities. After the completion of 1st stage of terminal construction its capacity reaches 250 000 TEU.

Ventplac LTD. is offering cargo transshipment and storage services. Current throughput amounts of the company are 0.5 mln tons, however the maximum capacity is twice as big. Wood materials are delivered to the port via roads and railroad, then it is further exported to Sweden, Finland, Norway and UK using the vessels ranging between 0.5 to 4.5 DWT. Ventplac LTD. also transships woodchips and peat. Woodchips are mainly exported to Sweden, and peat is transported to the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
