Ventspils hosted entrepreneurs from Central Asian countries

On Tuesday 10 April, during the Latvia-Central Asia business forum, Ventspils hosted a delegation of entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

During the Latvia-Central Asia business forum, 28 entrepreneurs from Central Asia visited Ventspils. As a part of the visit, guests visited Ventspils High Technology Park, where the Deputy Executive Officer of the Ventspils Freeport and the Head of Marketing and Development Department Igors Udodovs introduced the guests with the opportunities offered by Ventspils city, the benefits of special economic zone and the offers to entrepreneurs and investors of various fields of the industry.

During the day, the delegation visited the holding companies of VK Tranzīts: Bio-Venta, which is the largest biofuel production and transhipment complex in the Baltic States; liquid food cargo transhipment terminal – Baltic Juice Terminal, a multifunctional handling and transhipment centre, the ro-ro, container and general cargo terminal Noord Natie Ventspils Terminals, and a warehouse for frozen goods – SIA Reefer Cargo Terminal.

The business forum was organized by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia and USAID KAZAHINVEST.
