CEO of the Freeport of Ventspils
 
Education: Ventspils University of Applied Sciences, Master’s degree in Business Administration. Additional training related to port and business development in Germany, Belgium, Ireland, Israel, etc. Fluent in four languages.
 
Professional experience:
  • Employed at the Freeport of Ventspils Authority since 2001. Initially, as a marketing specialist, since 2003, as the Head of the Marketing and Development Department, and since 2014, as the Deputy CEO of the Freeport of Ventspils and Head of the Marketing and Development Department.
  • Since 2005, Board Member of the Ventspils High Technology Park.
  • Since 2020, member of the Advisory Council of Ventspils University of Applied Sciences.
  • A long-standing member of various working groups, commissions, and councils in Ventspils and at national level:
    • member of the Economy and Budget Commission and the Entrepreneurship Promotion Commission of Ventspils City Council;
    • member of the Advisory Council of the Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Regional Development Centre of Ventspils University of Applied Sciences;
    • member of the working group in charge of developing the “Business Competitiveness and Financial Prosperity” priority under the National Development Plan 2021–2027;
    • member of the Convention of Ventspils Technical School;
    • member of the Supervisory Board of SIA “Ziemeļkurzemes reģionālā slimnīca” ;
    • member of the Kurzeme Regional Council of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Awards: Ventspils City Council 2015 award for the active attraction of investors, the development of the Business Incubator, and targeted improvement of the industrial sector of the Freeport of Ventspils.

Education: Riga Technical University, Bachelor of Engineering in Construction, qualification of a Construction Engineer in the specialisation of Port structures; participation in the training Programme in Japan.
 
Professional experience:
  • 1997-1998 AS “BMGS” construction worker, assistant work manager;
  • 1998-2004 Engineer of hydrotechnical structures of the Freeport of Ventspils authority;
  • 2004-2013 Deputy Head of the Freeport of Ventspils authority, Head of Technical Division;
  • 2014-2016 project manager of the Freeport of Ventspils authority;
  • 2014-2016 Member of the board of SIA “M.A.& A.”, construction engineer;
  • 2016/2020 Deputy Manager of Liepaja Special Economic Zone in infrastructure matters;
  • 2020-2023 project manager of the Freeport of Ventspils authority;
  • From 2023, Deputy Head of the Freeport of Ventspils authority, Head of Technical Division.
