On October 3, Ventspils was visited by economic diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, whose daily work is to represent Latvia’s economic interests abroad. More than 30 Latvian diplomats from various countries, including Uzbekistan, Egypt, Ireland, Australia, and Georgia, partook in the event.
The delegation’s visit began with a comprehensive and educational meeting at the science and innovation center Vizium. Later in the day, they visited HansaMatrix Ventspils and Bio-Venta, two companies located in the Freeport of Ventspils, and went on a trip with the excursion boat “Hercogs Jēkabs”. The meeting was intended to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the Ventspils business environment, as well as to foster collaboration between the municipality, the free port administration, and the entrepreneurs themselves.
During the diplomats’ visit, the spokespeople shared their knowledge in attracting investments and promoting international contracts, as well as provided insight into decision-making and problem-solving in the field of the multinational market. Entrepreneurs from Ventspils had a splendid opportunity to converse with representatives of diplomatic networks from various nations, not just in Europe but also around the world, about possible opportunities for cooperation and export growth, as well as to get answers to specific questions and learn about the work of diplomats. Active talks concerning the challenges and opportunities Latvian enterprises face to differentiate themselves in the international market also took place during the meeting.
Visits with attachés and other diplomatic representatives deliver beneficial opportunities, strengthen partnerships, encourage entrepreneurs for future challenges, and create new options for cooperation between Latvian businessmen and foreign markets.
