“Froli Baltic”, a company operating in the industrial zone of the Freeport of Ventspils, has opened a new production line this month, which will allow the business not only to fabricate polyurethane parts that are already provided in larger quantities but also to expand the overall manufacture offer and ensure faster product delivery to customers.

The new production line is a crucial step in the company’s general development, allowing the enterprise to meet the growing demands of the automotive industry and enhance fabrication efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness.

The most significant benefit of polyurethane is its longevity. The products are unsusceptible to temperature fluctuations and easy to maintain, which makes them notably demanded in the medical and rehabilitation industry.

Co., Ltd. “Froli Baltic” is a subsidiary of the German family-owned company Froli GmbH & Co. KG that constructs various products from polyurethane foam for medical, rehabilitation, furniture, automotive, and other industries. The enterprise has been operating in the industrial zone of the Freeport of Ventspils since 2006, concocting polyurethane products and proposing sewing services. Presently, the company’s assortment includes approximately 200 types of self-developed and customer-exclusive polyurethane details, manufactured using both diecasting and plastic thermoforming techniques.

There are 48 manufacturing businesses located in the territory of the Freeport of Ventspils, proffering a total of about 2,500 jobs, which is more than 15% of all employees in Ventspils. In 2023, fabrication companies had invested 24 million euros in the Freeport of Ventspils but had paid more than 18 million euros in taxes to the state and municipal budgets. In 2023, according to industrial production output, turnover, and export indicators, Ventspils ranked second place among cities outside Riga in Latvia, but, according to production output per capita, Ventspils is significantly ahead of both Riga and other Latvian cities.
