The Freeport of Ventspils Authority has issued an order which sets restrictions and procedures of action at the Port of Ventspils terminals and on-board

Due to the declaration of an emergency in the Republic of Latvia, the Freeport of Ventspils Authority shall hereby impose the following restrictions and procedures of action at the Port of Ventspils terminals and on-board.

AN ORDER

1 Any vessel entering the Port of Ventspils is obliged to report the health condition of the crew. Any cases of illness or bad feeling among the members of the crew are to be reported to the Port of Ventspils Vessel Navigation Service by calling +371 636 21040 or FHF 09, 16 or to the medical institution by calling 112 or +371 636 24721.

2 Captain of the vessel is to refrain from rotation (changing) of the crew, except for the cases, if the vessel rotation crew consists of nationals of Latvia.

3 Prior to the rotation of the crew, the Captain is to report this intent to the Vessel Navigation Service by calling +371 636 21040 or VHF 09, 16.

4 Rotation of the crew shall be allowed only upon confirmation from the Vessel Navigation Service.

5 Refrain from current vessel repair and maintenance works by involving shore personnel, to the extent possible.

6 Port terminals shall be prohibited from admitting vessel supply, service and repair companies in the territory without coordination with the Port Equipment Defense Officer.

7 Transfer of dry waste is to be provided by the vessel crew by placing waste bags into the bins places ashore.

8 During the bunkering operation ‚Äúvessel/vessel‚ÄĚ, vessel crew shall be prohibited from moving between the vessels, and allowed to hand over and accept the bunkering equipment only.

9 During the bunkering operation ‚Äúshore/vessel‚ÄĚ, shore personnel shall be prohibited from boarding, and allowed to hand over and accept the bunkering equipment only.

10 Transportation of rotation crew by the vessels of the port auxiliary fleet: pilot vessels, towboats and sanitary water collection vessels, shall be strictly prohibited.

11 Upon boarding, pilots and inspectors involved in emergency shall be obliged to use protective gloves, but upon disembarkation ‚Äď to disinfect their hands.

12 Contacts between the vessel crew and pilot or vessel inspector is to be organised by observing distance of at least 2 metres.

The Order shall enter into effect on 16 March 2020 and remain valid up to the moment of revocation thereof.
