Investor and philanthropist David Yakobashvili develops eco-friendly food packaging plant in Ventspils
On Monday, 25 July, David Yakobashvili, the main investor of Forpet Baltic Ltd, developer of various innovation projects and philanthropist, arrived in Ventspils for his first visit to get acquainted with Ventspils, the Freeport of Ventspils and to evaluate the development of Forpet Baltic Ltd, where more than 14 million euros have already been invested.

The Freeport of Ventspils Authority is organising an auction for the granting of development rights for the construction of solar panels on land plots or parts thereof:
On June 2022 the joint project team of the Freeport of Ventspils authority and “Ventspils High Technology Park” (VHTP) visited the foundation “International Development Norway AS” to gain knowledge, practice and experience regarding the realization of projects related to environment and climate change.
The Freeport of Ventspils Authority has signed a development right agreement with SIA BLNC, which plans to invest up to 25 million EUR in Ventspils and build a drinking water storage terminal and export infrastructure. The agreement is concluded for a land plot of approximately 7.1 hectares in Ventspils, P.StradiÅa iela 20.
The reconstruction of the 740-metre long harbour embankment from the North Pier to the Baltic Coal Terminal is in full swing, and the total project costs amount to nearly €2 million.
On Monday, May 30, a cruise ship DEUTSCHLAND arrived on his first visit to Ventspils.

Visitors will find jewels of industrial cultural heritage - the Oviši, UÅ¾ava and AkmeÅrags lighthouses managed by the Freeport of Ventspils Authority.
In continuation of Swedish ferry company Stena Line expansion in the Baltic Sea region, on 19 January the new ferry Stena Baltica made its maiden voyage on the route Ventspils-Nynäshamn. It will operate on this route together with Stena Scandica, replacing Stena Flavia, which in turn will operate together with Stena Livia on the LiepÄja-Travemünde route.
