Yesterday, on March 5, a meeting of businessmen from Flanders and Latvia was held on opportunities for closer cooperation. The session was held in Riga and opened by the Minister-President of Flanders, Jan Jambon.
Igors Udodovs, the Deputy CEO of the Freeport of Ventspils: “We see prospects for the development of collaboration with Flanders, particularly in logistics, such as the creation of shipping lines, and in the wind power industry. Moreover, we have something to talk about in the industrial sector. A good example of a partnership with Flanders is the metalworking company “Malmar Sheet Metal”, which has been successfully operating in Ventspils for a long time.”
The main cargo shipped from Ventspils to the ports of Flanders is a variety of agricultural products and peat.
