In 11 months the cargo turnover has increased by 32%

During the 11 months of year 2022, the terminals operating in the Ventspils Freeport handled a total of 13.3 million tons, which is 32% more than last year.

The increase is being observed in all cargo groups, but most of all - by 134% - the dry bulk cargo volume has increased. In this group of cargo, the largest part of the cargo is coal, which is transported from Kazakhstan. The turnover of liquid bulk cargo increased by 6.5%, and that of general cargo - by 8.1%.

"Ventspils nafta" terminal continues to handle the largest amount of cargo in the port, but the biggest increase in cargo volume compared to last year can be observed in coal handling terminals "Baltic Coal Terminal" and “Ventspils tirdzniecības osta”.

In 11 months, 1262 cargo vessels were received in the port: 1,009 dry cargo vessels and 253 tankers, which is 64 vessels more than last year.
