In order to enhance the production processes, attract investors and support the creation of new jobs, new buildings are being constructed in the industrial zone of the premises of the Freeport of Ventspils.
The Administration of the Freeport of Ventspils has signed agreement with SIA âAquatoria Vâ for the acquisition of construction rights on the land plot in Ventspils, Talsu street 200. The company plans to build a new, modern fish compound feed production and processing plant in this territory.
On 5 September the management of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Latvia â Sun Yinglai, the ChargÃ© d'affaires, Shen Xiaokai, the Economic and Commercial Counsellor, and Lu Junyan, the Commercial AttachÃ© â visited Ventspils.
On 18 June, a delegation from Pudong New Area in China visited Ventspils. The main purpose of the visit was to sign a new memorandum of understanding, by including cooperation terms regarding the education sector in it as well.
On 3 June, the cruise ship Albatros arrived at the port of Ventspils with more than 800 passengers. It was its first time visiting Ventspils.
The wood-working company Baltic Forest Trading has been operating in Ventspils for 16 years in total
Baltic Forest Trading has been operating in the special economic zone of the Freeport of Ventspils for 16 years and is currently implementing one of the largest projects in its history.
Bucher Municipal, a subsidiary company of the Swiss concern Bucher Industries, has commissioned an extension of an industrial building at GanÄ«bu iela 105 with an approximate area of 3000 m2. A shelter for the goods receiving warehouse with an area of 450 m2 is currently under construction and is expected to be commissioned in approximately a month.
Soon five years will have passed since the company Arbo Windows is operating in the industrial zone of the Freeport of Ventspils at Kustes dambis 32; the company manufactures wooden windows, doors, sliding mechanisms and insulating glass units.
According to the information provided by the Central Statistical Bureau for the last year, industrial enterprises operating in Ventspils have reached a 46% increase in their industrial production output when compared to 2017. This increase is 38% higher than the average indicator in Latvia (8%).
