Last week, from 16 to 18 May, Ventspils Freeport Authority participated in one of the most significant events of Asian transport and logistics industry – the exhibition Transport & Logistic China 2018 which took place in Shanghai, China.
Latvian National Stand was represented by Ventspils Freeport Authority, Latvijas dzelzceļš and by other largest Latvian ports. The Deputy Executive Officer of Ventspils Freeport Igors Udodovs together with the administration representatives of Latvijas dzelzceļš, the port of Rīga and the port of Liepāja met with the representatives of Ningbo port and logistics sector in order to discuss the possibilities of cooperation in the field of logistics. The port of Ningbo is one of the largest ports in the world in the amount of transhipped cargo. Its representatives welcomed Latvia as a potentially important partner in cooperation because of its beneficial geographic location, good infrastructure and well-organized transport and transit services, whereas the entrepreneurs appreciated the tax benefits in special economic zones of Latvia.
In these international events, Ventspils report Authority presents the opportunities for cooperation with Ventspils, including the benefits of freight transportation through Ventspils port, its terminals, as well as cooperation with stevedoring companies and the use of the vast industrial territory of Ventspils port.
Transport & Logistic China is Asia's one of the most significant international exhibitions in the industry, with 667 major transport and logistics representatives from more than 65 countries.
