The Ventspils High Technology Park (VHTP), which is a place for development of dynamic and innovative companies, operates in the industrial zone of the Freeport of Ventspils in accordance with the conditions of SEZ. VHTP has now become a center in the Western part of Latvia, which attracts companies of IT and other fields, e.g. manufacturer of electronic components HansaMatrix Ventspils, liquid display manufacturer Euro LCDs, data competence center Squalio etc.

VHTP offers a wide range of services:

  • The Business Incubator provides the infrastructure and support services for business start-ups in the initial period. Pre-incubation services are also available for the potential entrepreneurs;
  • The Technology Park provides the infrastructure and support services for research and educational centers as well as companies in the post-incubation and expansion period;
  • The company offers support to companies in the sector of space technology, and we also actively work on attracting foreign investors in the field of high technologies.
VHTP vision is to become a professional and dynamic business support organization recognized in the Baltic Sea region that would provide all the prerequisites in order for technology-oriented companies to develop rapidly. VHTP negotiate actively with foreign investors and entrepreneurs who see Ventspils as an appropriate and attractive place for further business development. Furthermore, VHTP offers a variety of services for business development, including access to modern laboratories and research institutions, support in staff selection, cooperation with industry partners as well as support in the development of business and marketing plans, writing of EU projects and EU funding attraction.

–         Ventspils is the only Latvian city in which the number of ICT companies has increased more than 5 times during the last 7 years. The developed strategy and action plan prescribes a further development and provision of ICT concentration in the city. According to the strategy we plan to make Ventspils more visible in the European ICT map by finding the niche appropriate for Ventspils and the whole region as well as by providing high-quality education for professionals, and excellen infrastructure and the best conditions for ICT companies.
