The message capsule immured in the foundation of the Ventspils High Technology Park building No. 7 has information about the industrial development of Ventspils city and the future production building. Cargo turnover at the terminals of the Freeport of Ventspils increased in 2018
In 2018, the total volume of cargoes transhipped by the terminals working at the Freeport of Ventspils has exceeded 20 million tons for the second year in a row. Indicators of the aforementioned year represent 1% over the volume of 2017 and 8% over the volume of 2016.
Concluded contract on renovation of Northern Pier
Next year will commence in the Freeport of Ventspils with the all-time most extensive renovation of the port’s largest hydrostructure – Northern Pier, which is planned to last for nearly two years and which will be executed by the JSC (AS) BMGS.
Entry fee for the vessels is to be changed at the Port of Ventspils in 2019
For the purpose of partial compensation for the costs caused by the inflation, the Board of the Freeport of Ventspils has decided to increase on average by 8% port fees and service fees at the Port of Ventspils. Even after the changes to become effective as of 1 January 2019, fees of the Port of Ventspils will still be the lowest on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea, thus providing the most competitive conditions for the private companies for operation at the Port of Ventspils.

Ventspils High Technology Park will have two new parking lots
In the middle of next year, Ventspils High Technology Park infrastructure will be complemented by two new public parking lots with 133 parking spots. This is based on the agreement concluded between Ventspils Freeport Authority and Central Finance and Contracting Agency on the implementation of the project for reconstruction of Pārventa district.
