Two new assembly lines were opened at Ventspils factory of the manufacturer of municipal vehicles Bucher Municipal. From now on new generation two- and four-cylinder street sweeping machines, which previously were manufactured at Butcher Municipal’s factories in the United Kingdom and Switzerland, will be manufactured in Ventspils.  

Freeport of Ventspils Authority has finished the six years long project regarding reconstruction and building of access roads of the terminals of the Port of Ventspils and industrial zones. 48 sections of streets and squares of Ventspils at the total length of 28.7 kilometres and at the area of 14.6 hectares respectively have been re-built and restored. Nearly 36 million euro have been invested in the streets and squares of Ventspils within this project financed by the EU Cohesion Fund.

 Types of acceptance of waste:

Project Access Roads to Terminals and Industrial Areas at the Freeport of Ventspils , which implementation was started in 2010 and will be completed by the end of this year, allowed not only to improve the infrastructure of port and industrial areas, but also made convenient environment for the inhabitants of the city.

This week the largest and most comprehensive international transport, logistics and Supply Chain Management exhibition „Transrussia 2015” is taking place Moscow. Among more than 35 Latvian companies, Freeport of Ventspils is also be represented.

The Freeport of Ventspils has closed the year of 2014 with the cargo turnover of 26.2 million tons. The second half of the year was complicated for several terminals of the Freeport of Ventspils, and the forecasts for 2015 are wary.

Froli Baltic Company increases the volume of production and invests in the production unit. Along with the installation of a powerful, energy efficient ventilation system and heat pumps, the environment and convenience of employees have been taken care of as well.

During the first eight months of 2014, the cargo turnover at the Ventspils Freeport has reached 19 million tonnes,- as it was reported by Mr Aivars Lembergs, the Chairman of the Board at the Freeport of Ventspils.

On September 3, 2014, a time capsule with a message for future generations has been walled up in the foundation of the to-be Ventspils Centre for Electronics. The Centre for Electronics is one of the two new industrial buildings being constructed in the Freeport of Ventspils with the financial support of the European Union, so as to provide modern industrial premises to high added value enterprises by 2015.

In December, 2013 2,5 million tons of cargo were handled in Freeport of Ventspils. It turned total cargo turnover to 28.8 million tons, that is more than Freeport Authority has planned before.
