The chargé d’affaires of the Republic of Korea in Latvia Seong-Jin Han visited Ventspils Freeport Authority. He and his councillor met with the representatives of the city council and the Freeport Authority in order to get acquainted with the city of Ventspils, the port and its offer to investors, as well as to talk about the possible cooperation with Korea.

Ventspils Freeport Authority is participating in WTC exhibition, conference and founding of the BRITA alliance
From June, 16-22 in Beijing, China, Ventspils Freeport Authority as a part of Minister of Transport Uldis Augulis delegation was participating in the international exhibition of transport and technology, conference World Transport Convention and the founding of Belt and Road International Transport Alliance (BRITA). Ventspils Freeport signed a memorandum with the structural unit LOGINK of China’s Ministry of Transport.
It is hoped to renew ferry traffic between Ventspils and Saaremaa Island in the season of 2019
On June 13, the delegacy of Saaremaa municipality and mayor Madis Kallas arrived in Ventspils Freeport Authority to discuss the progress made in restoring the ferry traffic and to agree on the further actions with the representatives of Ventspils municipality and Freeport. Both sides are willing to restore ferry service in the 2019 tourism season.

Bio-Venta increases its production volume
The SIA Bio-Venta which is operating in the territory of Ventspils Freeport is the biggest biofuel production and transhipment complex in Baltics, and this year they significantly increased their production volume, comparing to last year. The company hopes that this tendency will remain in the future.
