Bucher Municipal has been operating in the Freeport of Ventspils Authority for 12 years and has rapidly expanded its volume of production. A few weeks ago, a new production line of compact municipal machine C201 was launched. This development has allowed to start completing the project Spirit implemented by the international Bucher Industries Group.

Ventspils Freeport Authority takes care of Oviši, Užava, and Akmeņrags lighthouses. Those are also the only lighthouses in Latvia that are open for visitors.

Two new assembly lines were opened at Ventspils factory of the manufacturer of municipal vehicles Bucher Municipal. From now on new generation two- and four-cylinder street sweeping machines, which previously were manufactured at Butcher Municipal’s factories in the United Kingdom and Switzerland, will be manufactured in Ventspils.

Freeport of Ventspils Authority has finished the six years long project regarding reconstruction and building of access roads of the terminals of the Port of Ventspils and industrial zones. 48 sections of streets and squares of Ventspils at the total length of 28.7 kilometres and at the area of 14.6 hectares respectively have been re-built and restored. Nearly 36 million euro have been invested in the streets and squares of Ventspils within this project financed by the EU Cohesion Fund.

Project Access Roads to Terminals and Industrial Areas at the Freeport of Ventspils , which implementation was started in 2010 and will be completed by the end of this year, allowed not only to improve the infrastructure of port and industrial areas, but also made convenient environment for the inhabitants of the city.

The Freeport of Ventspils has closed the year of 2014 with the cargo turnover of 26.2 million tons. The second half of the year was complicated for several terminals of the Freeport of Ventspils, and the forecasts for 2015 are wary.
